Wear Red for American Heart Month

February is American Heart Month, which is dedicated to raising awareness for red-dress
cardiovascular related diseases.  Cardiovascular disease is the number 1 killer in both men and women. Every 80 seconds one woman is killed from heart disease and stroke. That accounts for about 1 out of 3 deaths in women.

So what can you do? The American Heart Association and Go Red For Women have an acronym (GORED) that can help you reduce the chance of heart disease and help others around you.

Get Your Numbers: Ask your doctor to check your blood pressure, cholesterol and  glucose. Minser Chiropractic Clinic have the equipment and resources to check these numbers right at the clinic!

Own Your Lifestyle: Stop smoking, lose weight, be physically active and eat healthy. Our exercise specialist can help you put together a workout routine that is right for you!

Raise Your Voice: Spread awareness to family, friends,  and community. You can do that by sharing information with others and by wearing red on National Wear Red Day on Feb 3rd.

Educate Your Family: Make healthy food choices for you and your family. Teach your kids  the importance of being active and eating healthy.

Donate: Show your support with a donation of time or money to either American Heart Association or Go Red For Women.
